DOYON DEVOURS BOOKS - MARCH FUNDRAISER
Doyon Devours Books will run from March 1st through March 10th. This event, put together by Doyon FRIES and supported by Doyon teachers, encourages reading through a fundraising read-a-thon, theme days and in-school events throughout the week.
During this special event, we highlight the importance of quality literature while continuing to develop our reading skills and good reading habits. We hope our families will sustain this love of reading throughout the year and beyond.
The Read-a-Thon fundraiser is completely virtual! We will be utilizing Read-A-Thon.com to track student minutes read and accept donations via credit card. You can now reach out to friends and family by email and social media instead of going door to door, tracking commitments, and handling cash/checks.
All students received a flyer on Thursday, February 29 or Friday, March 1 with a code. Please go here to enter the code and activate your account.
Instead of students working towards individual reading goals, we will have a collective goal of 50,000 minutes read for the whole school. Any minutes a student reads during the school day or at home counts towards the 50,000 minutes (including any read-aloud times).
Donations raised during this event will help pay for
- School-wide author visits
- Doyon Library needs
- Other school-wide endeavors
