Get Involved — Volunteer!

There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved!  Your help is needed! 

President and Vice President Roles - January 2025

Doyon FRIES is changing their elections cycle and therefore will have both the President and Vice President roles available in January 2025. 

Here is what each position entails:

President - Primary contact and spokesperson for Doyon FRIES. Chairs and runs monthly meeting. Decides upon and writes meeting agendas. Main liaison with principal and administration about events, programs and initiatives. Connect with Ipswich Educational Foundation when needed, as well as other community organizations. Coordinate special event volunteers. 

Vice President - Assists the President and carries out his/her duties when the President is absent. Serves as executive board contact with beautification, events and fundraising committees/volunteers, and runs committees in absence of a chair. Helps treasurer maintain website. Writes weekly note for Doyon school newsletter. Run December gift card collection for teachers/staff.

Committees

We will also be seeking volunteers to help with the following committees:

Enrichment - work to bring various programs/speakers to Doyon

Fundraising - help run both our traditional fundraisers (Doyon-a-Thon, Doyon Devours Books) and our new ones (Wrapping Paper, Spirit Store)

Green Team - help bring environmental education to our schools

Hospitality - help keep the teacher's lounge stocked, help provide lunches and other teacher/staff appreciation events

Doyon/Winthrop Joint Event

In addition, the Doyon/Winthrop joint event in May 2025 also is in need of help! Contact Liz Doucette at Lizzied7@gmail.com to volunteer.

DEEP Volunteers

As always, the Doyon Extraordinary Enrichment Program (DEEP) seeks parent volunteers each fall and winter/spring to teach after school classes. Lego Club, Craft Club, Field Hockey, Taylor Swift Dance Parties, Doyon Detectives, and Elephant and Piggie Club are just some past DEEP offerings.
